Tick Tock Organic Rooibos Green Tea

Rob is father of 2 boys and husband to Mariandi. Avid tea drinker.

I've tried all sorts of teas and herbal infusions, most of which smell wonderful but quite frankly taste like sweetnened hot water. Yuck!

Getting ready for a nice cuppa rooibos

When I was given a sample of Tick Tock's rooibos green tea I was dubious and though it was going to have the same bitter taste that normal green tea has. I know you can brew green tea for less time and use filterd water boiled to the perfect temprature, but lets face it, who has time for that shit?

I followed the instructions on the back of the cute 2 bag sample, and left it to brew for 2 minutes.

The taste

If you've ever had a cup of rooibos tea, you may have noticed it's lack of tartness and a floral bouquet (smell). This was no different. The taste is far more subtle but still has that flowery smell. And its smooth. No I haven't gone crazy, it was a little like drinking Chamomile tea. Very pleasant.

Conclusion

A wonderderful tea. In hindsight I should have left it to brew closer to the 4 minute mark, but I was afraid damn it. I was scared from past green tea encounters. Its about £1.99 for 40 tea bags, which is fairly reasonable for this kind of specialist tea.

I've tried to look for it in a few supermarkets but have yet to find a place that sells it. You can buy it straight from the Tick Tock website for £1.99 + £3.80, but at nearly £6 that seems unreasonable to me.
